Erica and Josh, you have offered Easton to the strong and tender providence of God.  We rejoice with you and give thanks for the gift of his life.  As your family and members of Christ's church, we promise, with humility and seriousness to share in Easton's nurture and well-being.  We will support, by our example and words, your efforts to provide a loving and caring home, where trust in God grows and Christ's way is chosen.  Our prayers will be with you and for you.  May the love and strength of God's extended family help make your task both joyful and fruitful.

MCC Meat Canner
It is time to circle some dates on your calendar Thursday, Nov. 6, and Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. Don't want you to miss the opportunities to get involved with the 2008 MCC meat canning project.

After 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, people will be cleaning and preparing the Cedar Crest School facility for the arrival of the canner. Some brawn will be needed then as well as for the meat stirring during the canning process.
First Mennonite is scheduled for the time slot on Friday, Nov. 7, from 4:30 p.m. to close (10-10:30 p.m.) FMC is also asked to supply food for the snack bar (meat, cheese, relishes, cookies, fruit) for that shift, as well as 8 quarts of soup and 1 pound of crackers. Those working at the canning can bring their food contributions out when they come. Others can leave any prepared foods at the church by noon on Nov. 7. Bill & Thea will furnish 4 quarts of chili and the crackers.  Anyone wishing to furnish another 4 quarts of soup (it can also be chili since Prairie Chapel Mennonite will bring the vegetable soup), please contact Thea or Bill. Thank you!!
